Bob’s Red Mill brings hazelnuts to whole grain product line
Bob Moore and his wife, Charlee, founded Bob’s Red Mill more than 40 years ago with the mission of bringing people back to basics with nutritious whole grains and minimally processed foods. Charlee believed in the benefits of whole foods long before they were widely accepted, which inspired Bob to launch Bob’s Red Mill in 1978 with stone ground whole wheat flour and a handful of other goods.
Since then, the company has expanded greatly, but it has never strayed from that core mission. Today, they offer more than 400 products featuring whole grains, legumes, seeds and nuts, including the delicious hazelnut. They’ve found that customers love the distinctive flavor of hazelnuts, as well as the richness and crunch they lend to so many dishes.
Bob’s Red Mill’s Hazelnut Flour is a popular favorite among customers. This paleo-friendly, grain free nut flour creates delectable baked goods like cookies, cakes and muffins. This gluten free nut meal is also delicious stirred into hot cereal, used as a breading for chicken or fish, or added to smoothies.
Hazelnuts are also an important component of the company’s Gluten Free Blueberry Hazelnut Oatmeal Cup. This grab and go oatmeal cup features premium Pacific Northwest hazelnuts and real blueberries, as well as a special gluten free mixture of rolled and Scottish oats, flaxseed and chia seeds. The hazelnuts provide an addictive crunch to this flavorful, nutritious cup!
From the very beginning, Bob and Charlee focused on people over profit: their mission was to provide wholesome food to their customers, build close relationships with farmers and suppliers, and treat their employees with generosity and respect. They take great pride in forming mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers to ensure they source the tastiest and freshest raw ingredients, including their hazelnuts!
